Our granddog received excellent care. Everyone were very respectful and highly skilled. It was very expensive but you get what you pay for. They deserve every bit of what they charge.
We took our dog in because she had swallowed a small, sharp ended piece of wood that was used to give her ice cream. She had been here before when she swallowed a small plastic spoon & they got her to vomit it back up. That visit, even at 1am on a weekend, was much less expensive than we expected. On this latest visit, the Dr. didn't want to take a chance making her vomit because it was a small sharp object that could've punctured her esophagus. So rather than finding a way to charge us for something, they just gave us ideas on how to proceed & charged us nothing! Both of our visits were pleasant considering the reason for being there, and everyone there was caring and considerate. If you have an emergency with your pet after hours, I highly recommend this vet.
So we had insurance on Primus and we didn't realize the company was charging us until December 2018. I went to the Animal Emergency and Trauma Hospital TWO WEEKS AGO and was told their system was down and they'd find the paperwork I filled out while our dog was on their table. I went in yesterday and they said they'd find the paperwork in their records and I then called today. I have told them MULTIPLE DAMN TIMES that I filled out paperwork for our dog and the lady today acts surprised when I spoke to her yesterday and told her I filled out the paperwork. So if you want to resist getting madder than a hornet, go elsewhere. This type of trash is so unsat and I'm tired of getting the run around. I'm finally ready to write a review. On August 12, 2018 our dog was walking with our elderly neighbor when a vehicle careened around the corner, running our boy over. I called my regular vets office and was referred to the animal emergency and trauma hospital. Sadly our dude was gone. Before we received the inevitable news, the lady working the front desk made sure we got back quickly and the vet was so kind. She took our guy back and then gave us the news we were hoping to avoid. they cleaned him up and offered us either a box to take him home in or cremation. I chose to take him home and bury him in our yard. What was one of the most difficult and depressing days of our lives was made a lot easier with the compassion, respect and love shown here. I don't know how y'all keep from crying sometimes, but your strength really helped. We lost our best friend that day, but we thank the people working for being so gentle. They didn't charge us a dime for the emergency care. I know our boy would have loved getting to know the humans working there and certainly would have become a favorite (our community knew us only because of our dog and when they found out what happened, a whole neighborhood rallied and offered their condolences) Thank you.
Horrible service. Concerned with payment only. No matter how sick or injured your pet is,be prepared to fill out paperwork and pay before your pet gets medical attention... and then be prepared for your pet to sit for hours before being seen. Its a shame this is the only emergency vet in the Wilmington area. I suggest that if you can, bring your fur baby to the state veterinary hospital not here.
These guys are the only reason my best friend is still alive, and I am eternally grateful they were able to save him from the brink of death. Really appreciate all you do!
