My husband and I recently had an appointment with Dr. Rachael to get second opinions for two of our dogs, a beagle and a lab the beagle had been diagnosed (by the vet in the town where we live) to have a majorly torn ACL which required surgery, and the lab a tumor and a cyst that we were also told would require surgery. We were not confident that we had been given an accurate assessment and diagnosis for either dog. I spoke with a friend, and rescue worker, who recommended Dr. Rachel to us. After examining both dogs she told us that our beagle did not have a majorly torn ACL, and explained to us why he did not. She did note that what he had was in fact a small problem with his kneecap, but that it was not something which would require surgery only joint supplement medication. The fatty tumor and the cyst on our lab also do not require surgery. She did also find four other small tumors/cysts/skin tags on our lab which she also diagnosed did not need to be removed. Thus neither pet needed any type of surgery.The other point I would make regarding Dr. Rachael is that she was very gentle and caring with both of our pets and took the time needed to do a thorough exam of both. I am so THANKFUL we took our beloved pets to her for that second opinion. It saved both of them from having surgeries which were not necessary. Dr. Rachel is AWESOME!
Amiable staff with a down home country setting. Our dog was treated with the upmost care and respect. Highly recommend!
