Fantastic food! The atmosphere is intimate and luxurious. Be prepared to spend time and money here. It is a more of a special occasion place than a daily place to eat. That's not meant to be insulting but just a heads up for those who want to go. I had a fantastic time here and the service could not be better.
Had the classic with lobster and our kids had the three course. It takes about 2 hours with kids but all the food was great. Especially milk chocolate for dessert.
The flamboyant manager (new owner) was super rude and overly confident even when SHOWN the poor hygiene of the produce being served. It's not the customer is always right..but he embarrassed us in front of other tables. Our waiter Wilhem really did a great job and earned the 2 stars for the restaurant. Food was sub par in comparison to The Little Dipper. The other owner was very professional. I feel sorry he's partnering with such a nut.
I love this place. I've gone twice, both times I haven't paid for my meal. Thats probably why I like it, though. Unless you are willing to spend a lot of money, do not go in here casually. The lack of prices on their menu is no mistake. A family of 5 can easily drop around $350 if they are not careful in what they order. Despite the pricing issue, though, I do really like this place. The ambience is great and the food is phenomenal. If you're gonna do fondue, do it here, but maybe take out a loan first.
I usually love it here but after tonight i can't say we'll be coming back. I gave 2 stars because the food and sauces are great. Tonight was a hurricane bogo special and after waiting 10-20 minutes before actually meeting our server she explained that there would be a 20% gratuity added. That was fine and of the 4 of us there were no objections. What the server failed to mention was that due to the added gratuity, she would only be doing the bare minimum part of her job. Our drinks were continuously empty. Once she only refilled just one person's drink as (i guess) they were the one to have to ask for refills. When asked for additional veggies, she forgot, and because she was gone for so long, we were almost finished with our food by the time she came back around for us to remind her. I used to be a server, i get that things get busy, but the restaurant wasn't very full, and she was severely slacking the entire 2+ hours we were there. Our tips totaled out to be approximately $40, which again, would've been fine, had she done a decent job. Sadly, our night out and escape from the craziness of the last couple of weeks was not as expected and instead frustrating. I suppose when you know you don't have to earn the tip, you don't work for it. We will not be revisiting the melting pot if this is how they treat their guests.
