I have lived in downtown Wilmington for a year and a half now. This restaurant came highly recommended from a foodie and a local restaurant critic. I ate there right before Christmas (pertinent for seasonal menu items), and it is now probably my favorite restaurant in Wilmington. Quaint an quiet location relative to the mainstay restaurants of downtown, but still in the neighborhood so not a hike.
Where can I possibly start...I drove from my Myrtle Beach to come here on a random dinner trip. The food was worth the drive. The deviled eggs were different, but so flavorful with the added smoked trout. We got the fried chicken and pork shoulder, both of which were cooked to perfection. Tender and crispy chicken and a delicious bqq sauce on the pork. The desserts were amazing, doing a beautiful creme brule and a super yummy sweet potatoes pie. The best part of this experience was our server, Vincent was funny and knowledge. He made great suggestions and had a great sense of humor. We'd come back again just for the service!
You can taste the freshness of the food. The menu changes daily based on what they get locally. The fish and pork were both excellent and full of flavor.
Absolutely fantastic meal. The other half and I came here for our anniversary and Miguel was such a great help. Cozy, comforting food with a lot of heart and soul put into it. Highly recommend.
Tried the fried chicken and the breading was thick and heavy. Couldnt even finish two bites. On the other hand, the Mac and cheese was to die for. Cocktails were fresh and delicious. Service was as good as it could be! My waiter was professional, friendly, attentive, and understanding.
