The cotton exchange is a great place to go for local arts, crafts, and wares. There are all kinds of vendors. The shoe shop upstairs has a great selection of socks. The tea and coffee shop downstairs is excellent. The loose leaf available here is a regular stop for me. I always bring family here when they visit from out of town. You should as well.
Most (not all) shops cater to tourists, therefore their prices reflect as much. Still a good place to window shop, grab coffee, buy some neat/one-of-a-kind trinkets & baubles and (most importantly) to see what used to serve as a key Historical Wilmington establishment. The architecture - the old rafters, wooden beams, creaky (but sturdy) staircases, etc. are the most interesting and memorable reasons to visit. And of course there are some great photo opportunities to be had, especially when the light's right.
A nice reclaimed space turned into lots of small shops. Nothing incredibly unique but as locals we often go there to find gifts. A little bit of everything. The Basics offers a very good option for food. If you are a history or architecture buff you will enjoy roaming the space to see how it had been reshaped.
Fun place to walk around and explore local shops! From shoes and clothing, to olive oils and chocolates, there is something for everyone at this established trading post. Great place to escape the rain! Every person we met were warm and gracious and inviting.
Very pretty and very quiet stop during our trip in Wilmington. All of the shops had very nice people in them plus they all sold something different. The building was very nice and it was a great spot to buy some gifts for family. It is more shops of items with food outside the main little shop area. But do take a few moments and have a look. Its great.
